So I am sort of pleasantly pleased to let all know that I have finally pieced a few do-dads of some acapella material that I've had hiding around my Youtube channel. I've decided to call this bit of rough material:
It should always be listened to all the way through as painful as it sounds, but this was the endeavor on my first album as well. It's my story damnit and I can tell you how to listen to it... or at least how I constructed you to listen to it, but what you decide to do or not do is completely up to you. :P
I have really been trying to decide what I am going to do about this whole "SoWeirdBoy" fiasco that I seemed to have found myself in. I love the friends and celebrities that I've met through the surname but I honestly feel like it just doesn't represent who I am anymore. I moved from Austin, TX which is where all of this material was recorded except for the excerpt "Static" this song/ poem is completely new. Moved to Las Vegas and now find myself back in my hometown of Modesto, CA. Simply ready to lay the past to rest and this EP is my way to do it.
If you weren't completely weirded out by this whole thing; I would like you to understand that I am seriously trying to portray a genuine, honest, lack of talent emotion. It's me and I want to express myself. Who says that it has to be pretty? Who gets to decide whether my "STUFF" have substance or not? I know what these words mean. Sure there's little to no structure and it's staticy which many probably cannot understand or relate to. But I'm a bit eclectic in that way. I love the rantings of Slim Twig and though I would never compare myself to his genius I can appreciate that I have him to thank in part for my wanting to pursue this path that I call my own. I'm not honing up to any blues derived music. I don't really endeavor to pull the audience into this stuff. It reminds me of how Punk began in the 70's. Not that I'm starting a revolution. But I do appreciate Lydia Lunch's approach and all of those artists from that era. If you haven't seen Kill Your Idols... Netflix NOW.
Just in case you're feeling eclectic today!
